Case Study

Real-Estate Owned Fixer Upper

Pro Home routinely steps in to play a crucial role, and in this case it was to prepare a real-estate owned (REO) house in shape to put it up for sale.

A charming 3BR/2BA fixer-upper in a desirable section of Northeast Philadelphia—bank-owned property, after a foreclosure—had not been maintained over the previous two years. As the house sat vacant, a leak in the roof led to rapid and extensive water damage as well as mold infestation throughout the entire property. In order for the lender to recover the value of their home, they needed to act quickly.
"Every single time I need Pro Home Restorations services Andrew is there for me as well as my clients. Even if it's 8pm on a weekend and the job is 20 miles away and the client's basement is flooded with 3 inches of water. I can always count on Andrew."

Day 1: Evaluation and Removal

Pro Home Restorations arrived at the home within hours of the call. Our experienced, certified property restoration experts used specialized equipment to assess the level of damage. We established critical containment barriers to save what was unaffected, and set about removing all damaged materials. The materials were bagged and disposed of in accordance with regulations.

Day 2: Mold Remediation and Drying Process

We began the mold remediation process systematically room by room. Air scrubbers and HEPA air filtration was established to remediate air quality. We then HEPA vacuumed, cleaned, treated, and disinfected all surfaces. Advanced drying equipment ensured each room was structurally dry. During the final stage of the remediation process zero-VOC, anti-fungal sealants were used to encapsulate any affected areas.

Day 3: Air Quality and Cleanup

Final clean-up began. Air quality was tested and showed no airborne spores. The mold damage was successfully remediated and the air quality was corrected. The home was safe, clean, and ready for renovation, which ultimately included a new kitchen and bathroom.
